Two people were arrested after attempting to evade Police in a stolen vehicle early this morning.
Shortly before 1:00 a.m., August 13, 2020, a vehicle known to be stolen was observed in the area of 11th Street West and Highway 7. When Police attempted to stop the vehicle, it fled and continued cross-country from Highway 7 to Highway 14 and continued to travel eastbound. SPS officers were able to successfully deploy a tire deflation device however the vehicle drove into the ditch toward a farmyard near Chapel Road where it eventually stopped. Both the driver and passenger were taken into custody without further incident.
The male driver, 40-years-old, is facing charges of Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Evade Police, Possession of Stolen Property and Breach of Undertaking (Court Info # 991136411). The 40-year-old female passenger was arrested on outstanding warrants.
