A 39-year-old man is facing numerous drug and firearms related charges following the execution of a search warrant early this morning as a result of an investigation by the SPS Drug Unit.
At approximately 1:15 a.m., August 20, 2020, with the assistance of Patrol, the Tactical Support, Canine and Air Support Units, a search warrant was executed by the SPS Drug Unit at a residence in the 700 block of Dufferin Avenue. It was a result of an investigation into the trafficking of methamphetamine and GHB. In the residence, Police located and seized:
- 759 grams of methamphetamine
- 168 grams of fentanyl
- $965 in Canadian currency
- 22 litres of suspected GHB
- A loaded handgun
- A loaded rifle
- A loaded shotgun
- Hundreds of rounds of ammunition
- 2 cell phones
- Scales and other items commonly associated to drug trafficking
Two vehicles were also searched as part of the warrant, and Police located an additional 0.72 grams of methamphetamine.
A 39-year-old man is charged with:
- Possession of Firearm Contrary to Order (x4)
- Careless Storage of Firearm (x4)
- Possession of Dangerous Weapon (x3)
- Possession of Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized (x3)
- Possession of Firearm Obtained by Commission of Offence (x3)
- Trafficking Methamphetamine
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Methamphetamine, Fentanyl and GHB
- Possession of Prohibited Device Contrary to Order
- Possession of Prohibited Firearm With Ammunition
- Possession of Prohibited Device
- Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000
- Breach of Court Order (x2)
A 42-year-old man is charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking GHB, Fentanyl and Methamphetamine, and Possession of stolen Property Under $5000.
