A man is facing numerous firearms-related charges after evading Police on Friday night.
At approximately 9:30 p.m., August 21, 2020, a member of the Canine Unit observed a vehicle without a license plate travelling at a high rate of speed on Alberta Avenue near 36th Street East. When the officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the vehicle refused to stop. The SPS Air Support Unit acquired the vehicle on Howell Avenue and relayed its movement to ground units, who were able to successfully deploy a tire deflation device. The vehicle collided with a parked and unoccupied vehicle in the 900 block of Avenue D North and the lone occupant fled on foot. The ASU directed ground units to Willingdon Place where the suspect was taken into custody without further incident.
The vehicle was found to be stolen and a sawed off rifle was located inside. The firearm was loaded.
The 24-year-old is charged with;
