Traffic Stop Reveals Cocaine/Weapons - 19th St. W & Ave. W S

One man is facing drug trafficking-related charges following a traffic stop last night.

At approximately 8:30 p.m., August 24, officers in the Community Mobilization Unit observed a brown 1999 Pontiac Sunfire driving erratically near 19th Street West and Avenue W South. A traffic stop was conducted and Police observed a Conducted Energy Weapon (CEW) on the seat of the car. The two occupants, a man and a woman, were arrested from the vehicle. A knife and a machete were also located concealed inside of the vehicle. A further search of the vehicle revealed numerous cell phones, a scale and nearly 78g of crack cocaine.

The woman was released without charges. The 31 year old man is charged with Possession of Crack Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of a Dangerous Weapons (x3).
