A man is facing charges after police responded to a domestic assault involving weapons yesterday afternoon.
Shortly before 2:30 p.m., August 27, 2020, Patrol officers responded to the 100 block of Hedley Street after it was reported that a woman and man had both been assaulted by another man who had fled. As Police were speaking to the victims, they heard a loud commotion. Upon further investigation, police located a man holding a knife and appeared to have blood on him. The man complied with officers directions to drop the weapon but then resisted further attempts to arrest. He was eventually taken into custody after a physical altercation with officers. He was believed to be under the influence of an intoxicant at the time of his arrest.
The three victims, a woman and two men, sustained minor injuries as a result of the assaults.
Officers located several air soft replica firearms and a knife.
The 30-year-old man is charged with; Possession Contrary to Order (x4), Assault (x3), Assault with a Weapon (x2), Utter Threats (x2), Possession of Dangerous Weapon (x2), Resist Arrest, Careless Use of a Firearm, and Point Firearm. (Court Info # 991137722).
