A Saskatoon man is facing charges after refusing to stop for Police last night.
On August 27, 2020 at approximately 11:23 p.m., a patrol member observed a stolen Chevrolet Cobalt disobey a traffic sign at 29th Street and Avenue P N. A traffic stop was attempted, however, the vehicle refused to stop and accelerated southbound on Avenue P N. The SPS Air Support Unit (ASU) acquired the vehicle on Avenue P N, allowing the ground units to disengage the pursuit. The ASU continued to observe the vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed where it collided with a parked and unoccupied vehicle in the 300 block of Avenue R S. The lone occupant fled from the vehicle on foot and ASU directed ground units to the location of the driver, where he was taken into police custody without further incident.
A 27 year old man is facing charges of: Flight From Police, Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle, Failure To Stop at Scene of Accident, Possession of a Weapon Dangerous and Take Motor Vehicle Without Consent.
