Saskatoon Police arrested a man last night after he was found with a weapon.

At approximately 2:00 a.m., September 2, 2020, Patrol officers observed a man standing on the sidewalk near 20th Street West and Avenue J South. The man was holding a machete and appeared to be in distress. When Police approached, the man fled on foot. At one point, the suspect briefly challenged officers with the machete, before discarding it into a yard, where it was later seized. The man was arrested without incident. He is believed to have been under the influence of methamphetamine.

The 20 year old Saskatoon man is charged with Possession of a Dangerous Weapon and Breach of Release.
