A Saskatoon man is facing impaired driving-related charges after refusing to stop for Police early this morning.
At approximately 12:05 a.m., September 9, 2020, members on Patrol observed a Jeep Cherokee traveling without any lights at a high rate of speed, on Warman Road near Circle Drive. Officers observed the suspect drive over a meridian and evasively through parking lots. A traffic stop was attempted in a parking lot in the 700 block of Circle Drive East. The driver slowed but then fled at a high rate of speed. Air Support Unit (ASU) officers observed the suspect vehicle exit city limits, northbound on Highway 16. The suspects abandoned the vehicle near Dalmeny and attempted to flee on foot. ASU assisted Corman Park Police and RCMP members in apprehending the two suspects, who were believed to be under the influence of alcohol. The driver, a 48 year Saskatoon man, was taken into custody by SPS and transported to Detention.
The 48 year old man is facing two impaired driving-related charges along with Evading Police and Dangerous Driving.
