A 20-year-old man is facing charges after he was found in possession of a stolen vehicle on Saturday night.
At approximately 8:00 p.m., September 12, 2020, Communications received a report about a vehicle that had been stolen from a parking lot in the 3700 block of Diefenbaker Drive earlier that same evening. At approximately 10:40 p.m., Police received additional information that the vehicle had been seen in the 1300 block of McCormack Road. The SPS Air Support Unit also attended and successfully located the driver exiting the vehicle and walking toward an apartment building. Responding Patrol officers located the suspect in a vestibule for the apartment building. A short struggle ensued before he was taken into custody.
The suspect was found to be in possession of bear spray, ammunition, a knife, brass knuckles and the key to the stolen vehicle.
The 20-year-old man is charged with Prohibited Possession (x3), Carrying a Concealed Weapon (x2), Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose (x2), Unauthorized Possession of Prohibited Weapon, Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000, Possession of Break and Enter Instruments, Obstruction, Resist Arrest and Breach of Court Conditions. He was also arrested on an outstanding warrant. (Court Info # 991139448)
