A man is facing charges after fleeing from Police early this morning.
At approximately 11:30 p.m., September 20, 2020, Patrol officers responded to a parking lot in the 3500 block of 8th Street after a woman reported that a man approached her while she was sitting in her vehicle and began yelling and striking her vehicle. He left prior to Police arrival but officers located his vehicle a short distance away, unattended.
At approximately 1:30 a.m., September 21, 2020, Police observed the suspect return to his vehicle. When approached by Police, he refused to obey commands, entered his vehicle and fled at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was located abandoned in the 1100 block of McKercher Drive. A canine unit successfully located him in the backyard of a residence in the 200 block of Leland Court.
The 20-year-old man was treated at the scene for injuries from a dog bite. He is charged with Mischief, Evade Police, Breach of Court Conditions, and a ticket for Driving with Undo Care & Attention under the Traffic Safety Act.
The victim and suspect are known to each other.
