Sutherland Dog Park- Cougar Sighting

Further to the previous public advisory regarding the cougar sighting, a search of the park area was conducted with the assistance of the Ministry of Environment. As a result, no signs of the animal was located during the search.

Restrictions have been lifted and the public is asked to be mindful of the wildlife along the riverbank during recreational activities.

 

Saskatoon Police received a call of a possible cougar sighting at the Sutherland Dog Park located at 130 Beef Research Rd on October 1, 2020 at 9:19p.m..

Patrol officers arrived and began asking individuals in the park to exit. The Sutherland Dog Park will be closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic until further notice to ensure public safety. Conservation officers have been consulted and will attend back in the morning to determine if the park is safe.

An update will be sent out once the restrictions have been lifted.
