The Saskatoon Police Service will be focusing on fraud awareness during the month of October. Fraud Prevention Month, typically held each year in March, was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. A number of upcoming events have been planned in an effort to educate and help prevent the public from falling victim to fraud.
The Economic Crime Section has partnered with two shredding companies during October; Shred-it Saskatoon and Electronic Recycling Association.
Two large, locked bins will be placed in the Saskatoon Police Service front lobby for the remainder of the month so the public may safely drop off personal documents to be shredded by Shred-it Saskatoon. On October 29, 2020, from 2:00 – 6:00 PM, Electronic Recycling Association will be set up at the Saskatoon Police Service with equipment to properly destroy personal electronics, such as hard drives and cell phones in a secure manner.
More details and information will be posted to the Saskatoon Police Service social media sites throughout October. Members of the public are encouraged to share and be part of the conversation.
