A man is facing a number of charges after he was found in possession of a loaded firearm during a traffic stop on Friday night.
At approximately 9:30 p.m., October 9, 2020, with the assistance of Patrol, members of the Guns & Gangs Unit conducted a traffic stop at 22nd Street and Hart Road. The front passenger was found to be concealing a loaded sawed off rifle in his pants, and was subsequently taken into custody.
The 16-year-old male is charged with Careless Use of a Firearm, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon, Carrying Concealed Weapon, Possession of Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized, Unauthorized Possession in a Motor Vehicle, Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition, Tampering with Serial Number, Prohibited Possession of Firearm and Possession of Benzodiazepine.
