A man is in Police custody after pointing a firearm this afternoon.

At approximately 3:13 p.m., October 30, 2020, Patrol officers were dispatched to a business, in the 3700 block of Diefenbaker Drive, after receiving a report that a man was inside with a firearm. The male was restrained, by the staff members, after pointing the firearm and threatening to cause harm to the staff. Staff members were able to keep the male restrained until Police arrived, where he was taken into custody without further incident. The male was found to be in possession of a .22 calibre handgun and ammunition.

The male was transported to hospital, for non-life threatening injuries, by Medavie Health Services.
