Two people are in custody after attempting to evade police earlier this morning.
At approximately 4:00 a.m., November 3, 2020, Patrol attempted to stop a white Toyota Camry on Circle Drive near Clancy Drive after observing it travelling at high rates of speed. The vehicle refused to stop and continued to drive erratically as the SPS Air Support Unit tracked it from above. The Air Support Unit observed two occupants abandon the vehicle on Pulles Crescent and flee on foot, while discarding weapons including a knife and bear spray. The female driver attempted to hide in the 200 block of Greensfield Crescent where she was located by Patrol. The Air Support Unit also directed Patrol officers to the 1000 block of Hargreaves Way where the male passenger was arrested.
The 26-year-old woman is charged with: Possession of Fentanyl, Dangerous Driving, Evade Police, Possession of Dangerous Weapon, and breach of court-imposed conditions. She was also arrested on outstanding warrants.
The 30-year-old man is charged with Possession of a Dangerous Weapon.
