Two people are in custody today after refusing to stop for Police last night.
At approximately 11:40 p.m., November 4, 2020, Patrol officers observed a stolen 2012 white Honda Civic. A traffic stop was conducted in the 400 block of Avenue O North, but the driver only stopped briefly prior to fleeing at a high rate of speed. The suspect vehicle struck a parked car and came to rest in an alley in the 500 block of Avenue T North. A male driver and female passenger exited the vehicle and fled. The female suspect was quickly arrested and found to be in possession of meth and a knife. A Canine track led Police to a back yard in the 600 block of Avenue T North. The male suspect was apprehended with assistance from the Police Service Dog. He was taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries caused by a dog bite, prior to being transported to SPS Detention. Officers located a sawed-off shotgun inside the stolen vehicle.
A 25-year-old Regina man is facing seven firearms-related offences, Evade Police, Dangerous Driving, Driving while Prohibited, Fail to Remain at the Scene of an Accident, Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000, Breach of Release and Breach of Probation.
A 21-year-old Regina woman is facing six firearms-related offences, two weapons-related offences, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000, Breach of Release and Breach of Probation.
