A 29 year old Prince Albert woman and a 34 year old Saskatoon man are facing a number of charges following an evade police incident.
At approximately 4:15 p.m., November 4, 2020, patrol officers witnessed a black Chevy Cruz being driven in the area of 33rd Street West and Alberta Avenue. The vehicle had been reported stolen in Prince Albert. Officers were able to monitor the vehicle while other units attempted to set up a tire deflation device. A few minutes later the device was successful in disabling one tire of the suspect vehicle at it travelled on Quebec Avenue. The vehicle continued driving, left the road near a railway track and stopped. As officers approached the vehicle, it drove away. Members of the Air Support Unit were able to spot the vehicle from the air. The suspect driver then stopped and fled the vehicle on foot near Circle Drive and Alberta Avenue and was taken into custody. One of the passengers began driving the Chevy Cruz up a railway embankment before rolling the vehicle. The 34 year old male was transported to hospital for non life-threatening injuries.
A search of the vehicle resulted in officers finding cans of bear spray, a hatchet, knives, an ice pick, a container with a variety of ammunition, numerous pieces of identification and bank cards belonging to other people and an empty alcohol bottle.
Another male occupant of the vehicle was located nearby and released without charges.
The 29 year old female and the 34 year old man are facing charges including; evade police, dangerous driving, possession of stolen property and possession of a weapon (x6).
