Two men were arrested last night following a traffic stop.
At approximately 9:10 p.m., December 15, 2020, Patrol officers conducted a sobriety check on the driver of a camouflage Dodge Neon. It was parked at a convenience store in the 1400 block of Idylwyld Drive North. Upon speaking to the three occupants, officers observed a machete on the floor of the vehicle and subsequently arrested all three individuals. A knife and prepackaged methamphetamine was also located inside the vehicle. One of the suspects was found to be in possession of over $1000 CAD, fentanyl and additional methamphetamine. As the suspect was being booked into Detention, he attempted to ingest the methamphetamine and was subsequently transported to hospital as a precaution.
One of the suspects was later released without charges.
A 31-year-old Saskatoon man is charged with Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Fentanyl, Possession of the Proceeds of Crime Under $5000, Obstruction, Possession of Dangerous Weapon and Breach of Probation.
A 33-year-old Saskatoon man is charged with Possession of a Dangerous Weapon and Breach of Probation.
