A 36 year old female is facing a number of charges following an incident in which she was found in a stolen vehicle.
At approximately 8:26p.m., December 19, 2020, dispatch received a call of a possible impaired driver who was involved in a hit and run with another vehicle at Ave T N/30th St W. Officers located the vehicle stuck in a snow bank in the alley of Howell Ave. The driver of the vehicle refused to place the vehicle into park and kept her foot on the accelerator while stuck. She was eventually taken into custody with the assistance of the Canine Unit. The driver was transported to the hospital by Medavie Health Services suffering from a minor dog bite injury.
A 23 year old female passenger was taken into custody without incident. She had numerous warrants outstanding for break and enter and breach of undertaking. She will be seeing a Justice of the Peace tomorrow morning.
The driver is facing charges of impaired driving, theft of motor vehicle over $5000, hit and run, and impersonation. She will be appearing before a judge at a later date.
