An 18 year old Saskatoon man is facing charges following an incident in which the driver of a stolen vehicle refused to stop for Police.

At approximately 1:00 a.m., February 14, 2020, traffic officers spotted a Nissan Maxima which had been reported stolen the previous evening from Borden Place. The officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, however the driver continued to evade them. Members of the Air Support Unit were able to spot the vehicle from the air and led ground units to the 2600 block of 37th Street West where the male abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. Officers were able to locate the man hiding in a backyard in the 300 block of Denham Court.

The man is facing charges of Theft of Motor Vehicle, Evade Police and was wanted on outstanding warrants from La Loche, Saskatchewan.
