Police have concluded a recent investigation into drug trafficking.
On February 25, 2021, members of the SPS Drug Unit and Integrated Crime Reduction Team observed activity consistent with drug trafficking on Galbraith Crescent. Officers initiated the arrest of the driver of a pickup truck for trafficking cocaine but he attempted to flee, causing damage to a nearby parked vehicle and garage door. The suspect driver, a 29-year-old man, was taken into custody without further incident.
Following the arrest, officers executed search warrants in the 1600 block of 37th Street West and at a residence in Peace Point in the R.M. of Dundurn, SK. The searches resulted in the seizure of 59 grams of crack cocaine and $16,000 CAD.
The 29-year-old Saskatoon man is charged with Trafficking Cocaine, Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking, and Possession of the Proceeds of Crime Over $5000. He has since been released pending a court appearance in the spring.
