Two people have been transported to hospital following a single vehicle collision on the Broadway Bridge earlier this morning.
At approximately 1:40 a.m., March 10, 2021, Patrol officers observed a suspicious vehicle in the area of 17th Street West and Avenue N South. Further investigation found that the registered owner of the vehicle was found to have outstanding criminal code warrants. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop but the vehicle fled toward downtown and continued travelling up the Broadway Bridge. Near Saskatchewan Crescent, officers deployed stop sticks however in avoiding them, the vehicle struck a light standard before coming to a stop.
The occupants, ages 26 and 33, were transported to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
While westbound lanes of Broadway Bridge have opened, eastbound lanes remain restricted while crews remain on scene. Restrictions are expected to be fully lifted at approximately 9:30 a.m.
The investigation is continuing.

The Saskatoon Police Service is advising the public of traffic restrictions due to a motor vehicle collision on the Broadway Bridge affecting both directions of travel. The Bridge will remain closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic until further notice as Collision Analysts investigate. Further information will be released as it becomes available.
