A 29-year-old man is facing charges after he was found in possession with a loaded sawed-off shotgun and a machete yesterday evening.
At approximately 6:30 p.m., March 11, 2021, a man was observed by police officers riding his bicycle on the sidewalk on two separate occasions in the area of the 900 block of 20th Street West. When the man was asked for his name, he provided a false one. Upon further investigation, officers were able to confirm his identity and while placing him under arrest, found him to be in possession of a loaded sawed-off shotgun and a machete.
The 29-year-old is charged with: Carrying a Concealed Weapon (x2), Possession of a Dangerous Weapon (x2), Possession Contrary to Order (x3), Impersonation, Careless Use of a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized, Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition, and Tampering with a Serial Number.
