The Saskatoon Police Service is responding to a protest at the Vimy Memorial on Spadina Cr this afternoon.
Police became aware of the planned event earlier this week and have attempted to speak with organizers. At this time it is not known how large a crowd may gather and whether traffic restrictions will need to be put in place. Motorists are asked to avoid the area around Kiwanis Park.
The SPS is aware that there are people planning to attend the rally who are not residents of Saskatoon, and may include people who have traveled from Regina. While the Saskatchewan Government is currently not recommending inter provincial travel to Regina, the travel is not in violation of the Public Health Order.
