A 19 year old woman is facing charges following a report of a female with a handgun that resulted in Police deploying a Conducted Energy Weapon (CEW).

At approximately 6:30 p.m. March 20, Police attended to the 2200 Block of 22nd St. W. The responding officers located the female who was uncooperative with demands. A Conducted Energy Weapon was deployed, but was ineffective. The female was taken into custody and transported to SPS detention where she was assessed by Medavie Health Services personnel.

The Saskatoon woman is now facing charges of Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, Carry concealed weapon, and Assaulting a Police Officer.

This incident will be reviewed in accordance with SPS policy.
