Two people are facing a number of drug-trafficking related charges following a traffic stop last night.
At approximately 11:15 p.m., March 23, 2021, Patrol officers conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of Avenue U South on a blue 2004 Chrysler Sebring with only one working tail light. A brief altercation occurred as officers were arresting the male who attempted to destroy evidence of illicit drugs, prior to being taken into custody. Upon being searched in Detention, the male attempted to destroy further drug evidence.
A 35-year-old man and 35-year-old woman, both from Saskatoon, are each charged with three counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine, heroin, clonazepam), Possession of Hydromorphone and Possession of a Dangerous Weapon (x2).
