A 33 year-old man is facing multiple charges following the welfare check of a woman last week.
On the evening of April 2, 2021, members of Patrol were in the 3500 block of 11th Street West when they observed an injured woman enter a parked vehicle with a male driver. Concerned for the welfare of the woman, officers approached the vehicle.
While addressing the occupants, a handgun was observed beneath the male driver; he was subsequently arrested without incident. A search of the vehicle resulted in officers seizing a modified handgun, a prohibited magazine, various ammunition, multiple bladed weapons, $2350 CAD, 2 grams of hard cocaine, 3.1 grams of soft cocaine, and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.
The 33 year-old man is facing multiple charges relating to firearms/weapons, drug trafficking, and possession of stolen property; he was also found to be breaching court imposed conditions.
