Public Service Advisory: Warm Weather Crime

The Saskatoon Police Service wants to remind the public to be vigilant in securing property and buildings as the warm weather forecast continues. Crimes of opportunity such as break and enters to garages, sheds and residences typically increase in the spring as we experience warmer temperatures.

Remember to lock all outbuildings, vehicles and windows on your property, along with your home. Even if you are outside in your back yard, lock the doors to your home and garage. Remove valuables that may be in your car such as garage door openers/keys, money or electronics. Secure property in your yard such as bicycles or tools. Bike theft reports also typically trend upwards in the spring. Ensure your bike is registered with SPS through the Online Bicycle Registry.
