Firearm Discharged - Ave W And Bedford Road

Investigation by members of the Guns and Gangs Unit has resulted in charges against two men following reports of a firearm being discharged overnight in the 200 block of Avenue W North.  A search of the residence resulted in officers locating a sawed-off 12 gauge shotgun, a spent shell and ammunition.

A 49 year old Saskatoon man is facing charges of; Reckless Discharge of Firearm, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Use of Firearm in a Reckless Manner, Possession of a Loaded Prohibited Weapon and Breach of Undertaking. 

A 47 year old man is facing charges of; Aiding and Abetting the Reckless Discharge of a Firearm and Possessing Ammunition Contrary to a Prohibition Order.  

Saskatoon Police are continuing to investigate after receiving a report of gun shots being fired overnight.

At approximately 3:40 a.m., April 12, 2021, Police were called to the area of Bedford Road and Avenue W North. A resident reported hearing gun shots. Patrol and Canine Unit members attended and located evidence outside a home in the 200 block of Avenue W North. Due to the potential threat of firearms members of the Tactical Support Unit were called to the scene along with the Crisis Negotiation Team. Contact was made with four occupants inside the home. They exited without incident shortly before 6:30 a.m. A 49 year old Saskatoon man was taken into custody. Members of the Guns and Gangs Unit are investigating.

No one was injured during this incident.
