A number of people are facing weapons and firearms-related charges following an investigation by the SPS Guns & Gangs Unit.
Investigators received information that individuals in a residence in the 300 block of Avenue R South were in possession of firearms. At approximately 2:30 a.m., April 15, 2021, a search warrant was executed by members of the Guns & Gangs Unit with the assistance of the Tactical Support Unit. All occupants were evacuated from the multi-unit dwelling and seven people were arrested in relation to the firearms investigation. Three were later released without charges. A loaded, sawed-off rifle and ammunition were located inside and seized by officers. (image attached)
Four individuals (ages 21, 25, 34, 50), are facing numerous firearms charges. The 21-year-old and 25-year-old individuals are also charged with Breach of Probation or Breach of Release.

Prior to the search warrant being executed, Police observed a suspicious vehicle leave the residence. A traffic stop was conducted near 22nd Street W and Avenue Y South. A male occupant was located in possession of an imitation firearm, bear spray and a knife. The two other female occupants both had outstanding arrest warrants. One female, who provided a false identity, was also found in possession of methamphetamine.
A 28-year-old woman is charged with Fraudulent Personation and Possession of Methamphetamine.
A 22-year-old man is facing four firearms and weapons-related offences.
