A man and woman from Regina and a male youth from Saskatoon are all facing multiple charges following occurrences in both cities.
On April 19, 2021, the Saskatoon Police Service received information from the Regina Police Service regarding a vehicle whose occupants were believed to have discharged a firearm in Regina prior to travelling toward Saskatoon.
At approximately 9:30 p.m. the same day, officers observed the vehicle being driven in Saskatoon and attempted to conduct a traffic stop in the 600 block of Douglas Crescent when the vehicle, a white Ford SUV, fled at a high rate of speed. A ground unit further up the road was successful in deploying a tire deflation device; however, the vehicle did not stop and continued to be driven erratically. The Air Support Unit took over monitoring the vehicle as ground units disengaged. The vehicle was abandoned in the 1200 block of Dundonald Avenue with three occupants observed to be fleeing the area on foot; officers in the air were effective in directing those on the ground to the locations of all suspects.
A 28 year-old man from Regina is facing charges relating to the possession of a controlled substance; he was also found to have outstanding warrants and was breaching numerous court imposed conditions.
A 21 year-old woman from Regina is facing multiple charges relating to flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, and possession of a controlled substance.
