Investigators with the Saskatoon Police Service Drug Unit (SPSDU) have laid drug-trafficking charges against three people following an investigation.
Two men and one woman were observed conducting activity consistent with drug trafficking around Saskatoon on various dates. At approximately 8:00 p.m., May 12, 2021, members of the SPSDU, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Unit, conducted a high-risk traffic stop in a hotel parking lot in the 2800 block of Lorne Avenue. Two male suspects were arrested from a vehicle without incident. A search warrant was also executed at a suite in the hotel where the third suspect was taken into custody without incident. Following the arrests, the suspects were found in possession of cocaine, meth, cash and cellphones. Inside the hotel suite, additional meth and cocaine was located, along with scales.
In total, investigators seized:
- 111g powdered cocaine
- 430g crystal methamphetamine
- $120.00 CAD
- Cell phones, scales, packaging and other paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking
A 42-year-old Saskatoon woman, a 49-year-old Saskatoon man and a 31-year-old Melfort, SK man are all charged with Trafficking Cocaine/Methamphetamine, Possession of Cocaine/Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of the Proceeds of Crime Under $5000.
