Saskatoon Police arrested a man this morning following an assault on two individuals, yesterday.
At approximately 8:20 a.m., May 12, 2021, Saskatoon Police responded to an assault-in-progress at 1st Avenue South and 20th Street East. Upon arrival, officers located two individuals who reported to have been assaulted by an unknown male. Police learned that the male suspect approached the victims and threw a shovel at one of them. When the second victim attempted to intervene, the suspect struck them with a skateboard before fleeing the scene. Both victims were transported to hospital with minor injuries. The suspect was also reported to have struck a vehicle with a skateboard prior to the assault.
At approximately 7:45 a.m., May 13, 2021, Saskatoon Police were called to 115th Street West and Central Avenue. The caller stated that they observed the suspect from yesterday’s assault, kicking a City bus. Officers located a male matching the suspect description skateboarding in the 100 block of Imperial Street where he was arrested without incident.
The 29-year-old man is charged with Assault with a Weapon (x2) and Mischief Under $5000.
