Three people are in custody after refusing to stop for Police, this morning.
At approximately 2:45 a.m., May 26, 2021, Patrol officers observed a white Volkswagen Golf with a mismatched licence plate, near Avenue G North and 31st Street West. A traffic stop was attempted, but the driver refused to stop for Police. The Air Support Unit guided a nearby Canine Unit to the location of the suspect vehicle in an alley near Northumberland Avenue and Milton Street. The driver struck a fence in the 800 block of Northumberland Avenue prior to being immobilized by the Canine Unit vehicle. Three occupants were arrested from the vehicle without further incident. No one was injured. A male and female passenger were found to have outstanding warrants for their arrest. The female was found in possession of knives, pepper spray and identity documents belonging to another person.
A 40-year-old man is charged with Dangerous Driving and Evade Police.
A 26-year-old woman is charged with Possession of a Dangerous Weapon (x3), Carry a Concealed Weapon, Possession of Identity Documents Relating to Another Person and Breach of Release.
