Two people were arrested this morning following a weapons complaint.
At 11:40 a.m., June 3, 2021, Patrol officers were dispatched to a park in the 300 block of Avenue N South. It was reported to Police that a woman and a man were seen in an altercation where a gun was involved. Officers located and arrested the suspects at 20th Street West and Avenue P South. The male suspect was found to be in possession of a sawed-off rifle and collapsible baton. The female suspect was found with an imitation firearm and pepper spray.
The 25-year-old man and 26-year-old woman are facing numerous charges including Possession of a Dangerous Weapon, Possession of Methamphetamine and Breach of Release.
An elementary school in the 300 block of Avenue N South went into a brief perimeter lockdown during the incident. SPS School Resource Officers attended to the school to offer support to staff and students. No one was injured.
