A 34-year-old man is facing charges after it was reported that he was driving erratically yesterday afternoon.
At approximately 12:00 p.m., June 6, 2021, it was reported to police that a white Chevrolet truck was driving erratically in the area of Highway 219 and Lorne Avenue. The vehicle was later involved in a vehicle collision at 3rd Avenue and 26th Street but fled prior to police arrival in an unknown direction. The vehicle was located at a gas station in the 400 block of Circle Drive East where the driver attempted to flee without paying for fuel. He resisted arrest and physically assaulted a patrol officer. He was eventually taken into custody when additional police officers responded.
The 34-year-old is charged with Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000, Assault Police Officer, Dangerous Driving, Fail to Stop After Accident (x2), and Theft. (Court Info # 991162911).
