Two women and a man are facing a number of charges following a report of someone in a vehicle was pointing a firearm.
At approximately 1:00 a.m., January 13, 2021, Police received a report that a firearm was being pointed out of a black SUV in the 800 block of 22nd Street West. Within minutes patrol officers located a black SUV and attempted a traffic stop. The driver refused to stop and fled from police. Officers deployed a tire deflation device on Avenue P. A tire was successfully deflated however the vehicle continued to travel west on 11th Street West. Police located the vehicle in the 200 block of Thomas Crescent where it had hit a snowbank. The suspects had fled on foot. Canine tracks were initiated and two women were located hiding in a back yard. A male suspect was also located nearby.
A 30 year old woman was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and is facing a possession charge. A 40 year old woman was found to be in possession of cheques belonging to 24 different people or businesses and a mixture of cocaine and methamphetamine. She is facing charges of possession of stolen property, possession of cocaine and methamphetamine, dangerous driving and evade police. The 35 year old man is facing charges of obstruction, breach of undertaking and was wanted on outstanding warrants.
The women refused to be assessed for minor injuries consistent with dog bites.
