Three people are facing charges after a loaded, sawed-off shotgun was found in a vehicle that fled from police yesterday evening.
At approximately 9:30 p.m., June 27, 2021, police responded to a report that a person was suffering from the effects of bear spray at a business in the 2000 block of 22nd Street. A police canine unit was first on scene and observed the operator of a brown SUV drive over a curb and disobey a stop sign in their attempts to flee. The SPS Air Support Unit located the vehicle and was able to report to ground units that the vehicle had stopped at a restaurant in the 3800 block of Idylwyld Drive North. Upon officers arrival, three people were arrested and police located a loaded, sawed-off shotgun under the vehicle's backseat.
Further investigation found that the vehicle had been reported stolen.
A 21-year-old man, and two females, ages 15 and 18, are facing numerous firearms-related charges. (Court Info #'s: 991165022, 991165023, 991165025).
