Two people are facing charges after Saskatoon Police and Saskatoon RCMP members responded to connected incidents on Sunday morning.
Shortly before 8:30 a.m., January 17, 2021, the SPS received information that Saskatoon RCMP members responded to a break and enter, and assault, in the community of Grasswood. A Toyota 4Runner was stolen from this area and seen entering Saskatoon city limits. Shortly afterwards, SPS Communications received a report of a robbery where a male and female wielded a knife and stole the complainants Hyundai Elantra, leaving behind the stolen Toyota. RCMP members located the Hyundai abandoned in a back alley in the area of Taylor Street and Victoria Avenue. A SPS Canine Unit attended to the vehicle and initiated a track and found that the suspects had committed six break and enters within a five block radius. Both suspects were located and arrested in separate backyards in the 300 block of 5th Street East.
Both suspects, a 28-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, are charged with Break and Enter (x6) and Robbery.
The 28-year-old man faces additional charges of Possession of Methamphetamine and breach of court orders.
