Update - Suspicious Death Now A Homicide - 1800 Block Avenue B North

Detectives with the Saskatoon Police Service Major Crime Section, along with assistance from the Saskatchewan RCMP, arrested a woman today in Jans Bay, Saskatchewan in connection with a homicide that took place in Saskatoon in July.

She is facing a charge of 2nd Degree Murder and will appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court tomorrow.  

 

The suspicious death investigation on the 1800 block of Avenue B North has been deemed to be the city’s fifth homicide of the year. The body of a 49 year old male was located in the home and he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

An autopsy was ordered and is presently being performed.

At this stage of the investigation it appears that the person or persons responsible were known to the victim.

Members of the Saskatoon Police Major Crime, Forensic Identification, along with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service continue to investigate.

At approximately 5:30 pm on July 15, 2021, Saskatoon Police Service patrol members responded to a suspicious death at a home in the 1800 block of Avenue B North.

Upon arrival, members located a deceased person.

Members from the Saskatoon Police Major Crime, Forensic Identification, along with the Chief Coroner’s office are actively investigating.

Updates to this investigation will come from the Major Crime Section or Public Affairs office when more information to share is available.
