Arrest - Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit Investigation

The Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit has charged a Regina man with child pornography related offences in relation to an ongoing investigation of accessing, possessing, and transmitting child pornography. On August 10, 2021 members of the ICE Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in Regina and discovered child sexual abuse material located on electronic devices which were seized for further forensic analysis.

A 62-year-old Regina man was arrested today and has been charged with:

Accessing Child Pornography – Section 163.1(4.1) c.c.;

Possession of Child Pornography – Sec. 163.1 (4) c.c.; and

Transmit Child Pornography – Section 163.1(3) c.c.

He will brought before a Justice of the Peace in Regina, Saskatchewan and released on conditions until his first appearance in Provincial Court Regina on October 6th, 2021.

The Saskatchewan ICE Unit is comprised of investigators from the RCMP, Regina Police Service, Saskatoon Police Service, and Prince Albert Police Service. Their mandate is to investigate crimes involving the abuse and/or exploitation of children on the Internet.
