Serious Collision - Highway 41

Members of the Saskatoon Police Service Collision Analyst Unit have cleared the collision on Highway 41 between Llewellyn Road and Blackley Road.

Police would like to thank the public for avoiding the area allowing the investigation to be conducted.

A 53 year old female is recovering in hospital following a collision on highway 41 which occurred on September 1, 2021 at 4:13 p.m.. 

The driver was operating a passenger vehicle and crossed the centre line into the path of a semi loaded with steel.  The driver of the semi took evasive action and successfully avoided a head on collision however the car sideswiped the trailer and sustained severe damage.

Members of the Saskatoon Police Collision Analyst Unit attended and cleared the scene around 11:00 p.m..  Road restrictions remain as emergency crews work to clear the scene of debris and steel.

Impairment was not a factor in this collision.

An additional release will follow once all traffic restrictions are lifted.

Police would like to thank the public for avoiding the area and finding alternate routes allowing emergency personnell to work safely.

The Saskatoon Police Service is currently at the scene of a serious collision on Highway 41. Members of the motoring public are advised that Highway 41 between Llewellyn Road and Blackley Road has been fully restricted in both directions; motorists are asked to find an alternate route when travelling in the area.

An update will be provided as new information becomes known.
