Two people were arrested and charged last night following an investigation by the SPS Guns & Gangs Unit.
Investigators received information that individuals in a residence in the 200 block of Laurentian Drive were trafficking drugs and in possession of weapons. As a result, a search warrant was executed by the Tactical Support Unit at approximately 10:30 p.m., September 2, 2021. Two men were arrested without incident. Police located and seized two firearms (one of which was loaded), prescription pills, an air pellet rifle, and various ammunition.
A 59-year-old man is charged with Careless Use of Firearm (x2), Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized (x2), Prohibited Possession of Firearm (x2), Possession of Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition, and Prohibited Possession of Ammunition.
The second male, 51-years-old, that was arrested at the home on Laurentian Drive was found to have outstanding warrants.
A traffic stop was also initiated in relation to this investigation and a 60-year-old woman was arrested. She is charged with Careless Use of a Firearm (x2), Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm (x2), and Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition.
