On January 21, 2021 at 5:39p.m., the Saskatoon Police Service received a call to 21st St/2nd Ave S of three males with metal pipes who were fighting.

Patrol officers arrived and locate a 31 year old male victim suffering from a serious injury. Medavie Health Services transported this male to the hospital where his condition was upgraded to life threatening. He is now in stable condition.

At 6:28p.m., officers received another call to the 100blk 2nd Ave S of a male that had been hit with a machete. Officers located a 20 year old male victim suffering from a non-life threatening injury. Medavie Health Services transported this male to the hospital. Officers learned that these two events are related.

At this time, it is unknown if the victims and suspects are known to each other. There is no suspect description at this time.

The investigation has been turned over to the Serious Assault Unit.
