A 27 year old Saskatoon man is in custody following an incident that resulted in Police deploying a Conducted Energy Weapon (CEW) tonight.

At approximately 11:44 p.m., on September 9th, 2021, dispatch received several calls of a disturbance in the 3200 block of 33rd St W. Attending officers learned that the male causing the disturbance was currently wanted on 18 criminal codes warrants which included assault with a weapon X2, unlawful confinement with a firearm, break and enter, and numerous firearms charges.

When officers arrived, the male immediately fled the area on foot. An officer located the male in a park nearby and attempted to arrest the suspect. The male became combative and a CEW was deployed successfully. The male was taken into custody without further incident. He was medically cleared by Medavie Health Services and transported to detention where he will remain until attending court this afternoon.

The incident will be reviewed in accordance with policy.
