One adult and two youth were arrested after a firearm was discharged into a residence early this morning.
At approximately 2:30 a.m. on September 22, 2021, Police responded to the 3100 block of Laurier Drive for a report of an unknown problem involving three suspects and possibly a firearm. Officers arrived to find a multi-unit complex with three males walking directly outside. Upon receiving verbal commands for compliance, two of the three fled on foot while the third immediately complied and was arrested; the fleeing two were located and arrested a short distance away by responding officers. Subsequent investigation confirmed that a firearm had been discharged into a residence in the area; no injuries were reported as a result.
An 18 year-old man is facing charges relating to the intentional discharge of a firearm reckless to the life/safety of another person, unlawfully prowling at night, and committing mischief by willfully damaging property.
Upon arrest, a 17 year-old boy was found to possess a large quantity of ammunition on his person. He is facing charges relating to the intentional discharge of a firearm reckless to the life/safety of another person, unlawfully possessing ammunition, unlawfully prowling at night, and committing mischief by willfully damaging property.
Upon arrest, a 15 year-old boy was found to possess a small quantity of ammunition and a loaded sawed-off rifle on his person. He is facing nine firearms-related charges in addition to unlawfully prowling at night, committing an indictable offence while masked/disguised, and committing mischief by willfully damaging property.
All three are being held until they can be brought before a Justice of the Peace or Judge.
