A 22 year old man is facing charges following a 9-1-1 call that resulted in Police deploying a Conducted Energy Weapon (CEW).

At approximately 7:00p.m., on December 16, 2021, Police attended to a residence in the 2000 block of Wilson Cr. for a call of a domestic dispute. The responding officers observed a female being assaulted inside the residence and had to force entry to the home. They were met at the door by an assaultive male who refused to follow demands and resisted arrest. A Conducted Energy Weapon was deployed and the male was taken into custody. He was assessed by Medavie Health Services personnel at the scene before being transported to SPS Detention. He was under the influence of an intoxicant.

The Saskatoon man is now facing a charge of Assault and Assault with Intent to Resist Arrest.

This incident will be reviewed in accordance with SPS policy.
