A 17 year old male is facing a number of charges following an incident in which he refused to stop for police.
At approximately 1:26 a.m., January 30, 2021, Patrol officers attempted to stop a Honda CRV traveling at a high rate of speed in the 100blk of 33rd St W. Officers immediately disengaged.
The vehicle was located abandoned in the 1100blk Ave F N parked up on the sidewalk and stuck in a snow bank. Officers contacted the owner and found that the vehicle had just been stolen. The Saskatoon Police Canine Unit deployed and the suspect was located a short time later attempting to hide in a garage he just broke into in the 1000blk Ave F N. The male was taken into custody without incident.
The male is facing charges which include, evade police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, theft of motor vehicle, break and enter, and a warrant of apprehension. He will remain in custody until being seen by a Justice of the Peace tonight.
