Investigators with the SPS Serious Assault Unit have also charged the 18-year-old male with Attempted Murder in relation to the assault near Avenue H South and 18th Street West on February 2, 2021.

Investigators with the SPS Serious Assault Unit have charged the 15-year-old male with Attempted Murder in relation to the assault near Avenue H South and 18th Street West on February 2, 2021. It is believed the assault was random in nature.

Members of the Serious Assault Unit are investigating an aggravated assault that occurred last night.

At approximately 10:00 p.m., February 2, 2021, Patrol officers were dispatched to a home in the 500 block of Avenue H South for a report of an injured person. The complainant stated that an injured female attended to the residence asking for help. The female victim reported having been assaulted in a back alley near Avenue H South and 18th Street West by two males with a machete. Upon arrival, Police located a 23-year-old woman suffering from serious but non-life threatening injuries. She was transported to hospital by Medavie Health Services.

At approximately 11:00 p.m., officers attended to a residence in the 300 block of Avenue H South where three male suspects were taken into custody without incident. A machete was also located and seized from that location.

Three males, ages 15, 16 and 18 are all charged with Possession of a Dangerous Weapon. The investigation is ongoing.
