On February 6, 2021 at 10:06p.m., Saskatoon Police were notified of an individual operating a Honda Accord driving in the wrong lanes of travel on College Dr.
Patrol officers located that vehicle travelling passed the Saskatoon Police Service in the 100blk 25th St E. Officers attempted a traffic stop at which point the driver failed to stop for police and officers disengaged. The driver then drove in the downtown area for several minutes. Officers were able to successfully deployed a tire deflation device causing three of the four tire on the vehicle to go flat. The driver managed to then drive east bound on 8th St and continued to drive in a reckless manner.
Several Tactical Support Unit members were able to assist patrol with making vehicle contact at 8th St and Moss Ave. The vehicle came to a stop and the driver was taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit.
The driver is facing charges of evade police, dangerous driving, impaired driving by drug, refusal, and breach of statutory release. He will remain in custody until being seen by a Justice of the Peace on February 7, 2021.
